To Serve and Protect

So, just a quick note, maybe I'll expound a little on this later. I was in a cafe the other day and I saw a little sign with a police officer on it that stated "To serve and protect." I though about this, and thought "Isn't this the whole duty of a pastor?" The pastor of the church mentioned in third John was most likely diotrephes (He had the power to cast people out of the church) - but he desired the preeminence. Gaius, on the other hand, desired to be a fellowhelper. That is the true pastor - the true fellowhelper. Pastors, don't let that position puff you up. Be there to serve and protect - be a fellowhelper.
